You would be "messing" with the stability of the cream, and I'm thinking you'd get separation.

What I'm thinking is you should design your own lotion bar with the properties you love in your cream.

With a little research, gather a list of oils, butters, essential oils and botanicals (to infuse in your liquid oils) that have the properties you desire to help with rashes, bites and burns. Combined with the beeswax you would have a fantastic solid lotion!
If you need help with the recipe, let me know.

Best of luck, let me know how it comes out!
AnnaAnna from Natures Home Spahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04681990948195883824noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8002116478874966096.post-38351184920975876472017-07-13T13:04:10.133-07:002017-07-13T13:04:10.133-07:00I'm new to this so sorry if posted twice but w...I'm new to this so sorry if posted twice but was wondering if you had any tips on how to turn a store bought cream into a more solid form like a glue stick or deodorant? Because as weird as it sounds I use hemorrhoid cream for rashes bites and slight burns like popping oil on my hands or arms but I don't particularly like cream and wanted to know if I could get it to a more solid form like a glue stick or deodorant so I can just roll it on and carry it more easily in a purse or bag... any tips or help would be awesome..I thought of just using the beeswax and adding in the cream but I'm not sure if that would work with out other stuff needing to be added.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03000156208816848221noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8002116478874966096.post-65881425497754014582017-03-29T14:07:37.653-07:002017-03-29T14:07:37.653-07:00Hi Susan,

Also find them on Amazon. They have free, easy to use templates that you can go right to their website and design and print from your printer.

I don't have a good fitting label for the rectangular tubs, so I don't really use them anymore. Just using the round ones.

Hope this helps! I like your combination of butters and ...Hi Hilary,
I like your combination of butters and oils. I've never tried it, but
it sounds like it would be nice. Personally, I would consider adding coconut oil
in the mix of hard butters. It makes your bar melt smoothly. You don't
want too hard of butters to make your bar drag across your skin. You may want a
smaller proportion of avocado oil as well. Avocado oil is absolutely gorgeous in
a lotion bar, fabulous skin moisturizer and nourisher... but it can be very greasy
feeling if you have too much. A little goes a long way.

Here is my favorite combination:

2 oz beeswax
2 oz coconut oil
1 oz cocoa butter OR shea butter (here is where you could substitute with mango)
1 oz grapeseed

This combination makes a really nicely balanced bar. Not greasy. And it does not
drag across the skin. The grapeseed absorbs in quickly which is why it is not a
greasy bar. If you wanted to you could take out half the grapeseed and replace it
with half the avocado oil. This would give you a moisturizing bar, that
would be a bit more "greasy" feeling as the avocado stays more on the surface of
the skin. It just depends on what you like.

Play around with your oils and butters, you will find that perfect combination that
works for you and your skin type!

Would love to see your lotion bars, send a pict to natureshomespa@gmail.com if
you'd like and I'll share it here on the blog!
Best,
Anna

Anna from Natures Home Spahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04681990948195883824noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8002116478874966096.post-69410840310370984622017-01-27T10:08:44.199-07:002017-01-27T10:08:44.199-07:00What about a combination of equal parts cocoa butt...What about a combination of equal parts cocoa butter and mango butter, avocado (or grape seems Oil) and beeswax?Hilaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16888238776246430463noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8002116478874966096.post-48343896220123106452016-03-30T10:45:49.956-07:002016-03-30T10:45:49.956-07:00Fantastic post. i have been making my own lotion b...Fantastic post. i have been making my own lotion bars for some time now, i was wondering if i could use Soy wax instead of beeswax? i got some from bulkapothecary.com/categories/massage-oil-lotion.html and wanted to give it a try, but thought i would ask first.Annewowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11000044402506785311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8002116478874966096.post-1547259438951745382015-08-11T07:51:06.164-07:002015-08-11T07:51:06.164-07:00Hi Michele, I get my 2 oz lotion bar tubs at our l...Hi Michele, I get my 2 oz lotion bar tubs at our local Dollar Store, they come in rounds and rectangular tubs. In your recipe the cocoa butter and coconut oil would be considered a solid, so you need a liquid or soft oil.

I would melt them down again, and add the almond oil.

Grapeseed oil is a great liquid oil to use too as it absorbs quickly, which makes for a less greasy feel.

Sounds like you made a massage bar, which by design is harder so you can rub the butters and therapeutic essential oils into muscles.

Hope this helps.

Anna from Natures Home Spahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04681990948195883824noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8002116478874966096.post-29671052649485434742014-02-06T10:38:23.202-07:002014-02-06T10:38:23.202-07:00I made some bars with cocoa butter, coconut oil an...I made some bars with cocoa butter, coconut oil and beeswax, 1:1:1.
