Oatmeal Facial Soothing Toner recipe

       To soothe and hydrate your skin during dry winter months, grab the oatmeal!

 

The comfort food of many a cold morning just became your face’s best comfort!
Oatmeal has hydrating, moisturizing properties as well as salicylic acid which is known to naturally calm irritated skin. A great soothing agent.

Take a 1/2 cup of the oats and soak them in tepid water. Soak for 4-5 minutes. Stir to release the milky infusion. Pour off the milky water into another bowl. Splash the oat water on your face. Do not rinse. Your face will feel lovely.

You can use oat milk in homemade soap recipes, and other natural skin care as well.

Hi Jen. Thanks for stopping by and for the kind words! Would love to follow your blog, I checked it out and it was like a breath of fresh air. I SO appreciate it when faith is shared publically and Jesus Christ is lifted up, as I see in your blog. Wow, law school, awesome!

Ok,now for those poor cracked hands! As a registered nurse you understand the effects of dehydration. Well, thats one main reason our hands crack and are painful, especially in the winter. Lack of moisture. (You inspired me, I think I'll write a blog about Winter Hands!) For now, if you have the time, try your hand at a homemade lotion; recipe is on this blog under Lotions and Body Butters. Easy to make and hands down better than anything you can buy. If not, get some olive oil, coconut oil or grapeseed oil found in the oil aisle in grocery stores, Walmart etc, and massage it in. Grapeseed is less oily and sinks in luxuriously carrying other oils with it, so combine it with one of the above for a skin nourishing oil rub.

Hi Tori, I only make enough of a natural toner like this for one use.

If you want to make more than one use amount, I would take out the amount for the one use, then store the rest in the frig. You could even put it in a spray bottle and spritz it on to
stretch it.
