Sea Kelp Face Mask Recipe, the Ocean's superfood for the skin

Sea Kelp is about as nutrient rich as you can get.
The ocean's superfood for the skin is seaweed and hands down,
it is the densest nutrient superpower on the planet.
Here's how to make the most of this mineral rich
sea plant for your skin.
Our recipe for a super charged:

  • anti-aging,
  • skin revitalizing
  • nourishing
  • natural beauty aid
  • skin healing, repairing
  • de-toxifying   .......................... face mask for all skin types

TRY THIS FRESH RECIPE!

4 oz   100% aloe vera gel
2 oz   Kaolin clay
0.5 oz  milk powder  (goats milk or cow, full fat if you can get it)
0.5 oz  sea kelp powder

1) Make sure all your utensils and bowl are clean and sterilized. This is to keep any stray bacteria nasties from getting in your mask

2) Place all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Blend well with a hand mixer or stand mixer.
3)  Add in aloe vera gel and mix well.

If mask is too dry to spread smoothly on skin, add more aloe.

I make this in small batches as it does not contain a preservative. You can keep in frig, but I
recommend using it up within one week.

This mineral rich, antioxidant powerhouse mask ...
 will leave your skin:
  •  de-toxed
  •  soft
  • smooth
  • glowing
  • younger looking

Creamy Soy Milk soap with Mangosteen

The exotic and fruity Mangosteen
paired with creamy soy milk and soothing, cleansing
oatmeal  make up this soap.

Mangosteen is a tropical superfruit that grows on the
Garcinia Mangostana tree, mainly of Southeast Asia.  The fruit itself is a force to be
reconned with as it is full of antioxidants and numerous health benefits.
The scent it contributed to this soy milk soap is subtle, and fruity.
I colored it naturally with a bit of paprika.
And added a TBL of finely ground oatmeal as a  skin loving soother.

Enjoy, ............ Anna

Natural Beauty Tip for winter to Restore the Natural Ph to your face

The Milk Mask,  simple and natural beauty.

The natural ph balance of our skin is 5.5, which means it is slightly acidic.   "Ph" is referring to the balance of that acid and alkali on our skin.  Foods and things we put on our skin disrupts our natural ph balance, especially soaps.  Which is one good reason to use homemade soap and stay away from the drying agents of commercial soaps which remove the natural glycerin.

Want to put your winter skin back in balance?  Try a lovely homemade cultured milk mask.  Very simple to do:

RECIPE

Simply apply to your face SOUR CREAM, or BUTTERMILK, or my favorite Yogurt. If you are into
making that awesome power drink KEFIR, you can also use that. The cultured milk in these natural products will soften, and liven up your skin as it restores the natural Ph balance.

Apply a small amount of your choice of cultured milk and leave on for 10 minutes.  Then rinse well with warm water, finishing with a splash of cool water. Pat dry.   Lovely!

Enjoy natures goodness this winter!

Warm water from a spa or a bath helps to relax our bodies by warming muscles, allowing them to relax, as well as improve blood circulation.

If you can’t step into a spa for that much needed soak, turn your tub into your                      own personal spa with ingredients you probably already have.

Surround the tub with candles, soft background music if you like, a good book, or simply just relax in the peaceful atmosphere as research shows that taking a warm bath an hour before bed can help you to sleep.

The home-spa-bathing experience is more than  unwind time.  It’s a great way to hydrate yourself and soak in skin loving natural ingredients that soothe, nourish and moisturize  your skin, aiding in elasticity, cell renewal, anti-aging and overall skin health.  Leaving you with a natural glow and general well being.

Here are a few ideas to get you started....

·       The Milk Bath:
There are many variations of the milk bath.  The lactic acid in milk along with its fat and vitamin content is simply unparalleled.  It is soothing, nourishing and a gentle exfoliater that loosens the bonds that hold dry,
dead skin cells allowing them to slough off. New skin
cells are revealed and new skin cell growth is stimulated.
It will leave your skin refreshed and renewed, literally.

Recipe 1 :  Milk and Honey spa bath

1  ½  cups dry powdered milk or liquid milk.( Use full fat or lowfat, the
higher the fat content the more nourishing and soothing to skin.
¼ cup baking soda (cleans, soothes, softens skin)
¼ cup Epsom salt  (magnesium rich, is great for your skin)
¼ cup warmed honey  (humectant, anti-inflammatory)

Use: Pour all ingredients under warm running bath water. You can also
make up the dry ingreds in advance and store in airtight container.

Recipe 2 :  Rose - Milk spa bath

1 ½ cups – 2 cups milk (dry or liquid) full fatted works best
2 – 3 cups homemade rosewater (simply steep rose petals like tea and strain. Use 1 cup dried petals or 2 cups fresh petals to 2 cups boiling water to steep)
A few drops of rose essential oil (optional for scent)
Drop a few handfuls of fresh petals into the tub for the finishing touch,
          This is my personal favorite.
.
Use: simply pour ingredients under running water.

 Recipe 3:  Oatmeal and Milk

1 ½  - 2 cups Milk (as above)
½ cup oatmeal finely ground ( grind in coffee grinder or bullet type)
The finer you grind your oatmeal, the more it will suspend in
your water, (which is what you want) this is called colloidal oatmeal.

Use:  Pour milk and ground oatmeal under warm running bath water.
Some will settle on the tub bottom, just stir around a bit. It  washes
down the drain just fine.   Can be a bit slippery.    Colloidal oatmeal is
great for itchy skin, dry skin, acneic, or oily skin. Soothing.

 Recipe 4:   Scented Milk Bath

1 ½ cups milk (powdered or liquid)
¼ - ½ cup cornstarch (anti-   inflammatory, soothing to skin)
¼ cup baking soda

**Essential oil of your choice

Use:  Combine dry ingredients
well.  Put them in a glass container
with a lid and add essential oil(s), shake to combine well.  Use 1 to 2 cups per bath.

** HOW to add essential oils to your bath water:
Mix 5-6 drops of essential oil into liquid whole milk, pour into tub water
or
Mix 5 drops essential oil into 1 TBL of carrier oil (such as sunflower,
grapeseed, olive, sweet almond, etc) pour under running water.

DIY Rose Milk Bath

Rose petals, Milk, Rosewater..... luxury bath

A friend of mine and her daughter recently returned from a day spa in California.  While they had a great time just getting out together, they came home with their pocketbooks considerably lighter!   After hearing some of the pampering treatments at the spa, I set out to reproduce the same at home.  After all,
why not enjoy some of natures luxury in your own home!

The simple, but extremely luxurious rose milk bath!   I have to tell you, I was actually surprised at how refreshed I felt and how awesome my skin felt after this treatment.

     Recipe
Homemade rosewater (click  for rosewater tutorial)
Dry milk or regular milk (1-2 cups)
Rose petals

As your tub is filling with warm water simply pour in your rosewater, milk, and sprinkle petals on top. That's all it takes, simple and luxurious.   If you don't have any rosewater, try a milk bath, you will be amazed at how your skin feels, fill tub and pour in dry or liquid milk and enjoy.    Radiant and silky.  The moisturizing natural fats in milk are good for your skin and hair.  The lactic acid found in milk is a gentle exfoliat(leaving a new, soft layer of skin) as well as a soothing agent.

You can add oatmeal to your milk bath, oatmeal functions as a skin protectent, its properties protect the skin from irritants and soothes skin. Oatmeal will help to lock in moisture and soften your skin as well.    I grind my whole oats in my coffee bean grinder, instead of buying it from the drugstore,
Take your powdered oats and add them as the water flows from your faucet to ensure they mix well.

Enjoy,   Anna
