Cucumbers are roughly 90% water, so they have a natural hydrating effect on our tired, often overworked eyes. Natural beauty experts say that cucs reduce the puffiness around and under the eyes, but can't quite agree why. Is it the water content, or the fact that the cucumber is cooler than the skin? Cucs are also a well known natural way to reduce the appearance of dark circles under the eyes by increasing blood circulation in the area. With the area hydrated well around our eyes it is less prone to fine lines that appear from the dry skin stretching. Leaving the area soft and leaving us feeling refreshed.
Procedure: Slice a cool cucumber thin, cut in half so you can place a half under each eye or simply put a slice over the entire eye, however, if your're like me and have kids you need your eyes open! Just don't get the juice in your eyes, it stings. Leave on for 15 - 20 mins. Remove and rinse.
Do not attempt this natural skin help if you are allergic to cucumbers. Tips on this blog are not meant to diagnose or treat any ailments.
